Barcelona: Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya
The Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (Esmuc) is the only official public initiative center that awards the highest degree of music in Catalonia, within the framework of the organization of artistic teachings and its insertion into the European Higher Education Area.
The school was founded in 2000 by a Government agreement of the Generalitat de Catalunya and opened its doors in September 2001. Currently, it has about 600 students that study the higher degree in music, in the different specialties that are taught, and About 180 masters and postgraduate students. During the months of June and July it also offers summer courses, aimed at larger audiences.
The fact that students from very different fields come together, from more than 25 countries, makes the experience of studying in the Esmuc very enriching, and helps to make this center one of the most sought after destinations by Erasmus students.
